You know - Pat Benatar's lead player, and last I heard, husband.

Is this guy a bad $@! from the '70s or what!

I just don't understand why he just "up and stopped" (in the mid to late '80s) writing those great solos.

I mean, I'm 44 and I've loved hard rock all my life, and to me this
is one of the most overlooked lead players from our era. (He also played
a Strat some).

Does any one know the latest on this guy. I don't think he even has
a website.

You know to me, as great a player as he, is surely he would have some
solo work (instrumentals or something).

Thanks-

Have a great day!

Without a doubt the guy is an ace player and the brains behind Benatar's sound. The last I know is they are still happily married and she was doing some acoustic jazz based stuff with him. Anytime you see an article about unsung guitar heroes his name is usually in there.

I don't know what's up with him. I sure did enjoy those first few Benatar albums. A later CD, True Love (IIRC) was pretty good too.

If you find out anything worthwhile, mlanders, do let us know.

You are correct in that Neil Giraldo is amazing. As I recall he pretty much was a session ace that got the gig backing Pat Benatar, where they fell in love and got married soon after meeting. Since then he always been her music coordinator, co-writer, producer, and (surprise, surprise) guitarist. His musical focus has always been backing her career. I am not aware of any solo stuff, but I think they did do some albums as "Pet Benatar & Neil Giraldo".
