I currently have this distortion pedal, which I recieved as a gift. It's okay, but it's too heavy for my liking. I play mostly 60's and 70's rock like The Who, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, etc. And I was wondering which pedal is a good one for me. I don't want to spend too much, so about $70-80 max. I'm also thinking maybe I should go with a fuzz pedal.

Thanks for your input.

Your link is busted... one too many "/url" statements in it.

This will work ~~> Click Me

Anyway... I sorta think most distortion pedals are pretty much alike. So if they're too heavy for you, a fuzz may do the trick. You ought to see if you can try them out in the store before you buy, plus, check with your friends and see what they're liking right now. 8)

MXR is the way to go, or get an overdrive pedal instead so that you can easily get the tubes in your amp to distort at lower volume levels. If you are using a solid state amp . . . shame on you. :D

i have a Boss DS-1 distortion pedal and it's incredible! very easy to use, lots of sound, and pretty cheap. i can play everything from hard rock to soft blues on that thing.
