I assume there is a PA where you will be playing/practicing; if so, you just need an input/channel on the PA.

As for a good mic, you can't go wrong with a basic Shure SM58 for vocals--good sound, durable as Hades, and reasonably priced...I've had the same one for twenty years and it's still rockin'. Don't get the one with the switch, because you'll either forget to turn it on or it will eventually quit working and you'll cuss at it.
