Yeah, I know crappy name. Anyway, I had my guitar plugged in and the amp on, and started playing a CD. You know that rewind sort of sound you hear when you play a CD? That came out of my amp. It was pretty funny. Also, another time my dad was using the circular saw outside, and it also made my guitar sound wierd. I think it's because of the pickups, correct me if i'm wrong. Anything like this ever happen to you?

(I wonder what it would sound like if lightning struck close by while i was playing it?)

Try playing in front of a CRT monitor. It'll show what we've been sitting in all these years!

I can also hear my furnace running through my amps. This is with all guitars though. I suppose I could use a power conditioner.

Another funny thing you can try, is to take a remote control (tv, dvd, vcr doesn't matter) and point it at your pickups about 2 inches away and press any button, it'll make these beeping noises through the amp. It also get's louder the closer you hold it to your pickups.

Yeah its the pickups. Electrical objects that emit a lot of energy can be picked up. We sometimes pickup our neighbour welding in his shed on our radio and such like.

Your pickups will pick up different electrical currents. Better shielding can help reduce that.

I once picked up a very odd radio station on my amp.
When my husband vacuums the house while I'm playing my amp makes a pop sound, also the washing machine, lights, etc...
