Hi Retroverbial: is that your gear or just a pic you found on the net? If it's yours, can you tell us about the guitar on the left, please? I see a bound fingerboard, but it sure as heck ain't no Eric Johnson Sig - so what is it?

Cheers - C

It's my gear alright (a small portion of my herd) and I am the copyright owner of the pic.

That guitar was the first custom build I ever attempted......

The neck is a CIJ '65 re-issue with bound fretboard and moderate figuring in the maple while the body is a MIM Robert Cray hardtail. Under the hood resides a full set of SCN pickups wired up to the S-1 switching system. Gold bling completes the package. I finished this instrument in August of '07 so it pre-dates the new rosewood Eric Johnson by a couple of years.

Last night I saw the Hendrix/Monterrey video on tv and there were some Fender piggy backs to the left of his Marshall,it looked like the lights were on,I wondered if they were in his chain,it only looked like the Strat was run into the Marshall but I couldn't get a good look.

LOLOL

I was about forty feet from the stage that night but I couldn't tell for sure who was using those Fenders. BTW, they were Dual Showmans.

I Love that scene from BTTF. Still cracks me up every time. That looked like me when I tried out a Peavey amp.

Plus, I LOVE the Stonehenge bit!!!! Thanks for posting that.

Hi again Retroverbial: thank you for the information. That's a very nicely spec'd guitar, for sure. Love the neck. Good job!

BTW: copyright statement noted. Now I'm relieved I didn't reproduce the image in my post...

Cheers man - C

That wouldn't be a problem, Ceri......it's one of a number of "fair-use" provisions in copyright law. As long as said reproduction is not for commercial purposes you're perfectly legal. Recently, somebody used one of my published pics of a scale model that I built to sell a plastic kit on Ebay -- one of my buddies in Israel spotted it and let me know. I notified Ebay immediately and let the seller know in no uncertain terms that he was in violation -- Ebay flagged and pulled the listing in less than fifteen minutes. I guess you're nobody until somebody steals from you when it comes to intellectual property.

I'd rather have a full stack of HiWatt's since their cabinets go up to 300W, and heads go up to 100W. And it's possible to transport them.
