any james brown fans out there

Now that was good.

back to Ike.....funny how such a talented man just dropped off the map after the real talent got tired of his crap and left. No one would even know Ike's name if it wasn't for Tina. He wouldn't even be a foot note in rock history if it wasn't for Tina and his woman beating ways. I don't mourn him, admire him, respect him at all. The only person who thought Ike should be famous was Ike (and apparently King of Pain)....and whenever he realised that he beat Tina.

It's funny that everyone says that no one would remember Ike without Tina, yet there'd be no Tina without Ike Turner. Unfortunate as that is for everyone concerned. So I guess we'll never know if that's the case. I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree.

The James Brown line was good, btw. :)

Many consider Ike's "Rocket 88" to be the first Rock record ever made. I think that qualifies him as having impact.

I would like to explain my first post a little better. When I said Ike was a pioneer, I meant for the fact that he found Tina (actually that could've been an accident, and Ike has always been milking it for what it's worth). Other than that, his contributions were kinda on a low level and really not worth mentioning.

Just like Gravity _Jim said, he was really no different than any other soul man at the time.

I like James Brown better anyway. (Tina probably does too, hehe.)
