Gulf oil spill!

I love how natural disasters become huge political pieces these days. Do people really think Bush could've done anything more for Katrina? Do people really think Obama could do something more with this oil spill?

Short of them flying over and helping to clean up themselves, as long as the government agencies are working on it and the national guard/military is involved, then theirs not much they can do but offer encouragement.

I always wondered why people always blame the president for anything and everything, no matter who the president is. Some people must think that holding the president's office makes him a god of sorts. He can't stop hurricanes or dive 5000 feet to plug up an oil well. Although it would be kinda cool if we had a president who could. :lol:

Thank You! I couldn't agree with you more. I'm personally surprised that Obama hasn't taken the opportunity to at least suit up in a wet suit and get a camera shot of him diving into the water.

I dont care for the politics either, but I just want the spill stopped and cleaned up- FAST. I heard that some workers have complained about safety on that rig.

Politics arent going to help.

You know what I hate? seeing the price I pay at the pump double over a decade and watching this BS unravel every night on the news. I think we deserve a price drop on crude.

Funny, BP NZ came out recently and said that while sales figures are unaffected (cough) by this, that BP NZ are a retail business and have nothing to do with exploration and drilling. :roll:

When we step back and look at the situation, we have just payed a big price for the need of oil. The environment. It's that simple.

Good on the US Government for giving the industry a shake-up. It's needed in my opinion.

It's rather concerning the number of accidents BP are involved in, yet can blame others:

Obama should have been down there learning what is going on and helping with support by being there. I don't think he has even been on a boat in the Gulf to see the damage. Some times I think there is a key in his back that someone just turns and the talking head starts talking (I WANT THIS AND THAT I AM THE PRESIDENT)

Obama Side Note( I guess its a good thing he did not go to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier) The man don't respect our Military.
