And no Nickelback thread is complete without the famous vid of Chad getting beaned in the head onstage in Portugal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7F3O6WYfHQ

Thank you for that!
I'm posting it on facebook even as we speak.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I like some of their stuff, don't like some of their other stuff - not enough variety for me. I just don't get the fuss over them. :?:

At least I'm not the only one who doesn't get the fuss. My friend went to see them w/ Breaking benjamin, shinedown, and sick puppies and he said Nickelback was the best out of all of them. He's more a Shinedown fan than Nickelback. Not sure if that means much.

I had to finally tell the guy who works in my office to quit playing their CDs or turn it down so I wouldn't hear it...that and REM....he played them nonstop....for awhile it wasn't too bad,but both bands suck.
I'm a mean boss.

From my perspective:
In the 70's we the music lovers got to choose what we wanted to hear on the radio. Since then it's moved to the music industry as a whole shoving what THEY thing we should like down our throats. There are just enough shmucks who think that stuff like Nickleback is actually popular because they are well-liked. It's kind of like how I cannot find honest to goodness "normal" clothing anymore, because industries have forced us into buying what they think we should be wearing.

Worst thing to happen IMHO, is MTV putting an actual image to the music.

Bah, this thread depresses me.

edit: Oh, and don't even get me started on capris with high heels and those big goggle sunglasses women wear these days...
This just in ladies, you look like clowns when dressed like that, and not even remotely attractive.

Lets see I went thru my cd collection... Nope no Nickelback. But somebody is buying their albums... and even as Nevin alluded to earlier I don't think Chad could buy that many...
They've got their own sound just like every other band but its more noticeable since they're overplayed and underthemed in the song dept.

I'm sure if you're in a drug and alcohol induced haze with your favorite biker chic in a similar condition at Sturgis when Nickelback gets thru you are in for a good time... unless the band invites your girl backstage...

I have to agree with the above...I don't see how everyone always says no one likes nickelback when they obviously sell concerts.

People aren't necessarily forced to go...

As for me, I like some of there stuff, and some of their stuff I do not like so much.

some diversity could be infused to the band....that might help, like previously discussed I have to give them some credit, they made the big time.......staying there is another matter altogether.
