Still drooling over the moment I get mine! So you would say that it is a wise musical purchase?

mike

man ive made some wise purchases in my yrs.
ive made some down right dumb purchases as well.
this was a good move for me honestly.
i wanted a tube amp i could customize if i wanted to.
i wanted one that accepted a boost pedal as well.
i needed to be able to roll off the volume w/o
my amp still pushing the boost or w/o muddy
results. i got just that.
i had looked for amp reviews for a while and
got this "bright idea" one night to search youtube,
da. lol
i found a guy that runs a site called stevie snacks.
a sight devoted to the SRV style of playing.
he was using a blues jr. the moment i heard the
tones he was getting i knew i found my amp.
yes a bit of your tone does come from the way you play,
but i saw that the jr was able to get the tones I was looking for
with the features i needed. here it sets.
i do advise a amp stand for this amp. it just seems to sound better to my ears setting on the stand at the the slight lean it has.
its probably just me on that though, wait, (strikes a few chords)
yeah, it sounds better off the floor and up on a stand. :P

honestly, ive always been one to think
some floors will swallow up some of your tone if the amp is on the floor and at lower volumes.
a friend yrs ago had a way old fender tube amp.
we were at low volumes and we put the amp up on a chair so it would be more in our faces ya know. that amp sounded a lot different when we did that. the average ear wouldnt notice it, but one of our types sure could.
i skipped work today and went and got my stand.
color me crazy but i'll swear by it.

Hmm I never thought of that but for 20 bucks extra I'll grab a stand, I know it's loud but are you able to play it as a practice amp also without driving the family crazy?

i think so. im using a fuzz type pedal for now. i get great tone at low volumes. (a plus of a pedal in my opinion)
im trying to find a fulltone OCD V.3 pedal locally.
that will be my final purchase for this rig.
well maybe a tremolo type pedal, but that will be later on.

I have yet to use any sort of pedal but I plan on experimenting around with them
