Do you think the Strat, Tele, and the P Bass will still be around in the next 50 years? These 3 guitars, in thier original conception model, have stood the test of time for the past 50 years, and are standards in the industry. Almost every guitar and bass being made today is an offspring of these three guitars. I'd say that they will still be around as long as playing a guitar is done by human hands and not some machine or robot. The only collectables from this era, unfortunatly, will be anything from the Fender Custom Shop, as they are the only things not being massed produced and modded or hacked up by the owners. It's hard to tell where the prices might be in the next 50 years tho. The new Fender guitars are built so much more durable than the older models from the 50's, I think they will last and be around a lot longer than some the vintage ones around now.
