over the last 2 years i have bought 2 guitars, an amp, and many accesories. i frequently receive discount coupons from them- of course the discounts only apply on purchases over 299.00, or don't apply to brands i want to buy. now i pretty much delete the e-mails right away since i have no need for them.

today my brother, also a guitarist, calls and asks if i received a coupon from guitar center in the mail. when i was at his house tonight, i saw the coupon. since he hadn't been in the store for a while, he received a 35.00 coupon good towards anything- no brand restrictions.

i'm bummed- g.c.- throw us regulars a bone every once in a while. i've got a shopping list ready

Funny thing is, I got one of those the other day.
I went in to GC today and used it on an Ebow and some picks.
Basically it was 35$ free and clear.
I hope you get one. :D....or just steal your brothers....lol!

I went there yesterday with their 15% coupon in hand to buy the Fender G-Dec 3 thirty Watt. I hoped it would knock some of the $399 price tag off to make the amp a little cheaper. I did not get to use it. Someone mis-priced the amp to $259 (Less the he smaller 15 watt beside it). I bought it and left without asking them if the price was wrong. It is a great amp and works very well with my Mac and with amplitube. I guess for once, I got lucky!

I use the 15% coupon everytime and they honor it even for brands they say don't apply. I've found that they will in store but won't on line. Funny huh?

Only been inside a GC one time. Was looking at an American Deluxe Strat when one of the salesmen came up and started dissing the guitar. Wanted me to buy a Les Paul.

Later my friend who works there tells me that the guy had been wanting to buy the guitar himself for the past few weeks so he'd been steering other customers away from it.

Needless to say once the manager found out, his time there was drastically cut short

pretty shady of the salesman, but NOT worth losing his job over.
