Windows To The Soul is a classic number but then again, he does a lot of good stuff. Outstanding guitarist, pure genius at times.

i love the guy. his band ain't too slouchy either. i like his approach to music. kinda like zappa. just my opinion.

I have heard of him, but I never heard him play, at least not that I am aware of. I might have heard him on the radio without knowing it was him. I clicked the you tube link and watch the Steve Vai clip, got interested and watched some more Steve Vrai clips. I think the guy is a great guitarist, I especially liked him playing the Jimmi Hendrix song "Fire"

I'm obviously a bit Vai fan considering the main guitar in my rig is a JEM, but I'll agree with some of you that he doesn't necessarily be the most melodic at times, but no doubt the guy has major skill.
