Contains so much testosterone, it's . . . PREPOSTERONE!

I don't like any of the bands you listed, so I said no. I do like Classic Heavy Metal like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, etc.

If it's testosterone you're looking for, listen to ZZ Top. 8)

I hate Slipknot. Pretty everything I feel is worth listening to anymore comes from Europe. Except Metallica which is 25% European.

i really dig finnish, swedish and norwegian melodic metal like children of bodom, in flames, amon amarth, ensiferum and stuff like that. some are kind of cookie monstery but the instrumentals are what i like, i could care less about what they are talking about but listen to children of bodom or in flames and the guitars willl blow you away!

but then i will turn around and listen to merle haggard, allan jackson, or brad paisley

i listen to a bit of everything but i looooove metal

I like some of the heavy stuff but like most everyone else I do like to understand the lyrics. Take bands like The Showdown and Disciple. They play heavy and have vocals to make everyone happy. If you've never heard them look them up they are great.

I've still got stuff from Scorpions and Krokus on cassette and vinyl - but I haven't listened to them for a while. I listen to more blues/rock these days...

That's exactly the kind of heavy music I like! :D Disciple is one of my favorite bands ever, I've seen them live several times and I have almost all of their albums (I need a couple of the earlier ones). And The Showdown is also one of my favorites, I especially love their first album. Have you heard of a band called Decyfer Down? If you like Disciple you'll probably like them. They were touring with Disciple a couple of years ago.

'Already have adequate testosterone and the associated functional plumbing, thank you.

No need for hellacious decibel-level, barely-music, to stimulate the feel and propensity to "act" what is often mistaken for "manly."

So by your def, Mozart, Paganini, Albeniz, Vivaldi, Grieg, Litzt, Holly, Pass, Smith, Montgomery, Ellington, et al, were not "manly" because they were not your definition of heavy musicians?

Why does the thought, "Be patient, puberty doesn't last forever," come to this mind?

WOW  Someone else who actually knows Ensiferum. I have seen them live 3x and met Petri and Marcus a couple times. I got to hang out with Marcus a good 20-30 minutes before a show.

Just checked those bands out... Cool stuff. Arch Enemy is from Sweden there probably my favorite of the very heavy genre. I find them to be strangely relaxing.
