I opened up my electro harmonix little big muff to put a battery in and saw a "MADE in CHINA" inside the metal casing. WTF??? I've always thought electro harmonix pedals were made in NYC, USA as what it was printed on the top of the pedal. So where was it made?

If that were the case, then it should be printed "assembled in nyc usa" instead of "made in nyc usa". Its misleading.

Yeah for sure. Not wanting to get into a "lets buy local" debate, but if only things like the casing is made in china, and all the wiring and soldering etc etc is still done in the usa, then the quality of assembly is still there.

Did you really think Eh made that box? It wasn't designed to be a guitar pedal, it's just a standard off the shelf enclosure that EH uses to house the pedal components. They probably order thousands of them at a time from the cheapest supplier. The knobs, PCB, caps, resistors, etc are probably from China too.
