thats to funny.
i have a beagle. for the right price, a carrot stick, he will show ya where everything is and help ya carry it out as well.

I've got a beagle too, but he's as stupid and lazy as heck. If someone were to break into the house, he'd probably sniff them and run away under a bed. If you give him a treat then he'll love you and let you do want you want. Stupid dog, but he makes life so much easier.

oh but hes a smart beagle. he has to do very little to get your attendion and devotion. he knows this already and has you trained. lol
mine is no better i assure you. my g.friend and i are WELL trained.

ok i do get the kidding around stuff. its hard to tell sometimes on forums
and being behind computers.
what the whole topic is about is how do you protect the guitars while your away. hints the safe link i posted above.
dogs are easy to get past. springfield aint gonna be good for nothing if your not home.
just seeing what others are doing to protect their investments.

i was wondering, how do you guys store and keep safe your rare collectables? is there guitar safes or gun safes used?

Hi way cool jr: I live here, along with 120 highly trained, loyal and motivated ninjas:

But listen, here's the clever bit. My guitars are hidden... somewhere else. Crafty, huh?

Now. I feel you're just itching to tell us all about your ingenious security measures. So fire away - including any access codes and such we might need.

Cheers - C

I hate you for this post.

My first thought was, 120 ninjas? That's space 3 degrees apart for best coverage, so from one side of the castle I could take out 60, so at 5 rounds a magazine, I'd need........

Then I realized I was thinking way too deeply into how to get into your make believe compound.

But just so you know, I could.

Yep, i've cracked it and without the use of guns or the need to engage 120 Ninjas......

My Cat knows a snow leopard in Peckham.....

Enjoy!

Andy

No no, boys. You're missing vital details. What you see in that photo is just the historic 1000 year old bit. Pretty enough - but below ground is miles and miles of this:

Image

A vast tunnel complex left over from World War II, complete with huge steel blast doors, ambush points, deep stairwells, mazes of rooms for ammunition, weaponry - yadda yadda. The might of the German Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht couldn't get in there after six years of trying. (That's all true, as it happens. :D )

That's where my 120 ninjas are waiting to repel the assault in their own unique style.

And still, you've overlooked the clever bit. Me and my guitars are not there. While you're being chopped into dog food by my trusty ninjas I'm enjoying my geets... somewhere else!

The snow leopards send their greetings - C

Clicked thinking "protection" referred to something else. Maybe groupie related. But while I'm here, I'm with the group that tries to remember to lock the door when leaving. If I'm home, there is nothing like hardware to encourage someone to find another line of work. I pulled an (unloaded!!!) pistol on someone who broke in a few years back. From the look on his face before he ran off, I doubt if he broke into another house.

That's my understanding, except that it doesn't have the power of Lo-Jack. It's passive, meaning the detection range is probably very short ... maybe a couple of feet. At any rate, unlike with Lo-Jack, there's no central office or remote service that could track the guitar in the field.

However, it would provide positive ID when the guitar is found. The chip is embedded or installed in a way where detection by a thief would be virtually impossible. So unless they hack it to shreds and toss it in the dump, there's at least a chance that it could be identified somewhere down the road.

That's also why there's just a one time charge to purchase a chip and register the unique signature. No active tracking is possible.
