No special security other than a deadbolt on my one door, but I'm in a 2nd floor condo and my neighbors are all long timers. Someone putting a ladder up to my balcony would raise immediate suspicions, particulary because all outdoor repairs need to be approved by the board and are posted.

My neighbor across the hall has someone home almost all day long every day, so they'd probably notice someone other than me hanging around.

You could climb up the back wall of the building -- sheer wall -- by shooting a hook up onto the roof. But you'd be in plain sight of the apartments behind me all the time. You'd also have to lower the guitars down then go back up and get more or you'd need a confederate on the ground to lower them down to. The probability of this happening in my neighborhood is nil because no "pro team" with these skills would expect anyone to have anything that valuable.

In terms of alarms ... there was a gang here in LA that was getting through the best in the market in under 10 minutes. Dogs -- I agree with the poster who said they're easier than one my think to deal with. I had a good friend with two highly trained Rottweillers and "whoever" simply did the expedient thing and shot them from a distance.

So I guess my security is nosey neighbors and living in an area pros would ignore as not being a wealthy area.

Just so's you're clear, eccentric0 and I were both engaging in friendly humor. There's quite a bit more of it from others on this thread too - and all over this Forum.

It's a light-hearted friendly place. Now you know.

Kind of the same here jeebus. I have two boxers (one male and one female) who are inside dogs. My wife is a "hardware" fanatic. More than enough to hold off a small army if it came to that. :D

Hi way cool jr: I live here, along with 120 highly trained, loyal and motivated ninjas:

But listen, here's the clever bit. My guitars are hidden... somewhere else. Crafty, huh?

I hate you for this post.

My first thought was, 120 ninjas? That's space 3 degrees apart for best coverage, so from one side of the castle I could take out 60, so at 5 rounds a magazine, I'd need........

Then I realized I was thinking way too deeply into how to get into your make believe compound.

But just so you know, I could.
