Would it be possible to buy cans of Fender paint? How about amp-tweed by the yard? I'm toying with the idea of a custom car painted a Fender colour and with Fender tweed seat covers.

I suspect the answer will be "no." However, if you are into Fender colors, you should probably go to an autobody shop or auto paint store as many of the original Fender colors were from these exact type places because in the 50s car painters had the widest variety of colors, durable paints, and finishes.

And here are some links to tweed, just search google for more choices:

http://www.usspeaker.com/amp%20coverings-1.htm

http://www.vibroworld.com/parts/tech11.html

I just typed "amp tweed by the yard" into google and had 31,000 choices in milliseconds...

What kind of car are you thinking of Fender-izing? Just wondering. If you do it, make sure to post pics...

I was thinking about a Toyota Stout Pickup.Classic 60's styling and from what I gather quite suitable for customizing (looks and performance).
Mind you it's just a fantasy at the moment, but as I am taking some courses to boost my job qualifiactions maybe I'll be able to afford such a project some time next year or the one after that.If so I'll definately keep you posted.

You can bring your guitar into home depot or whatever and they can copy the exact paint color by scanning it. then you can buy as much as you need.
