I have played off and on since I was 18 but in the last 2 or 3 years I have really progressed on my lead playing. I look forward to playing every day. I don't know what it is but when I am at work I look forward to getting home slinging the guitar strap over my shoulder, turning the amp on...and playin' the blues.

I most certainly have the fever.......you guys get what I mean????

Indeed I do. Rehearsals and gigs aside, I play two hours a day.

I certainly do. All I ever want to do anymore is break out the Strat and play.

I was away for a few days and man, how I was jonesin' for the feel of my Strat in my hands. I wish I was good enough to say I missed playing it... let's just say I missed "trying" to play it.

i'm 42 and have been playing since i was a teen. i'm a solid rythym player and my lead playing is, uumm, not solid. i'll say tolerable. i go thru phases depending on work. good practice is essential to my playing. lately, of my 4 electrics, the strat is my "go to". even with the monstrous 12's on it.
in closing, i'll just say i play the strat differnt' than the others. i slow down a bit and find the sweet note i'm looking for. make sense? of course not. i rarely do. this will make sense. fender makes great guitars. i love mine.

i know what you mean. i started playing in 1960, and played in bands from 66 to 77. at that point i just got tired of giving up all my weekends. i sold most of my stuff, and picked up the guitar maybe once a month.

a friend of mine called me 3 years ago, and asked me to sit in with his 60's band. i had a blast. i then went out and bought a new strat. i play at least an hour a day, still gig once in a blue moon, and having a blast :D

Well, as they say, what makes you an artist is your passion for your art. If music is your passion, then whatever else you do, you feel as if you can't breathe if you can't play your music. Cheers, mate! And keep going at it until you perfect your craft.

There is something ultra-beaucoup-mongo-extra-heap big whelming special about guitar in this life. Perhaps, even cosmically-likely, parts of this soul are "tuned" and "resonate" to that which is guitar-stimulated. After all these years of being an enthusiast and player, one might think some of the high, the vibe, would have dulled or worn thin.

Yet, 2 weeks ago, 'went to a guitar show and it was a music-holy experience. Being around a lcouple thousand guitars, being around a few hundred guitarists, maybe the closest analogy is being at a fave-sports-team event...

...but SO MUCH BETTER (!) because we each can DO this, not just watch, tho we can do that as well
