As of this Friday I will officially be Fenderless! This past Saturday I traded my Modded 60's RI MIJ for a Marshall Haze amp (which I must sale). This Friday I'm driving to NOLA to trade my SRV in on a 7 piece maple drum kit.

Initially the thought of this didnt effect me much, but now I feel as though I'm suffering some sort of musical identity crisis. Caught between the gigging drummer for 2 bands and determined guitarist. With free time at a premium these days my guitar playing has taken a backseat to band rehersals and a routine practice schedule at home as well.

I'm torn between doing what I'm naturally more inclined to do (that being playing drums) and letting go of my goals and ambitions set for myself on the guitar.

Help!

To borrow a bit of pop-wisdom from those great late 20th century philosophers, Fleetwood Mac...

Have a good time in NOLA!! Don't be a stranger here thumbs, just because you're "Fenderless"!! Get you an old acoustic to play around on and write songs!! :)
I have a set of old Pearl drums that I beat on every once in awhile. Fun!! 8)

Well what would you do if you did not have your SRV Strat, whatever it is I would keep the ax and go down that road.

all_thumbs09, it is so cool that you can play drums Bro, Gretsch is a member of the Fender family of products perhaps at some point you will be endorsed by them and you will again possess a Fender instrument :D

Actually Roland, I already own a Gretsch 5120 ( have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE this guitar? ) and I'll be keeping the LTD EC-1000.

I wasnt planning on leaving the forum. It was more an abscent minded observation that I now have no Strats.

@ Hop, I wish I could enjoy my trip to NOLA. Its pretty much a case of get to town, handle my business, eat lunch a K-pauls and then shag $@! back to miss.

@ Nevin. The trick to drums is being able to break coordination and yes! I'm FAR better at working the wah than I am at working a guitar!
