yea, i just kinda got into it so i've been watching this series. confusing but interesting.

anyway, the ending was for the most part clear and made sense, yet i just feel like it was borderline "lame". one of those "oh i should have seen this coming, its so typical, they would do something like that" kind of moments.

so basically, america just watched six seasons about people who died in a plane crash and went on some trippy mystery tour on an island before crossing into Heaven.

i dont know, i cant help but to question out loud. just seems like they couldve taken it somewhere else. unfortunately i'm not part of the solution because i have no better ideas 8)

Bugger!

Looks like I just made a big mistake by clicking on this thread! I've only seen up to the end of season 3!

Oh well, I suppose I should thank you for saving me the time it would have taken to watch the other 3 seasons. :D

Enjoy!

Andy

Hi,

I'm new here, and also just started watching Lost, so i'm catching up a bit. I guess i'll end up frustrated like many people seem to be, once I get to the last episode :x

'Never watched "Lost," but the writer in this writer tips a hat to a neat master-premise end-trick.

So the island was a form of Purgatory...? hmm. In a way, it makes perfect sense.

Yeah, I had heard a few times that that was the theory for the ending of the series.

I'm still stuck in Seinfeld land. I did happen to catch the Family Guy Empire Strikes Back lastnight. I love that show too. The Family Guy Star Wars films are Brilliant.

I figured out at about the 2nd season when things on the island started getting silly that it was a form of purgatory. All those different personalities and people with different issues and backgrounds..it just made sense they were paying for thier past by living out thier afterlife on the island.
A guitar player's purgatory?
Playing in a band for all eternity with a drummer that can't keep time and a guitar that won't stay in tune, playing for the retirement village residents.

+1, that Family Guy was great. I love Seinfeld. I've seen most of them, and when I see it on I usually watch something else. Yet, I always end up thinking "I should've just watched Seinfeld.

I don't think the island was purgatory. The sideways life was their purgatory. I think they did survive the plane crash and life on the island was real. But the flash forward to the sideways life was where they were already dead.
