Well, I went by my local guitar store to drop off my resume today. I handed it to the owner (who I've known for about four years) and he looked over it for about two second and said, "Great, you're hired". I start my training in a few weeks and I officially start my job at the end of the summer. I'll be learning how to set up and repair guitars as well as helping customers. One of the things I'm most looking forward to is tuning all the guitars and basses. It sounds like something boring, but I look at it as an excuse to play them all. :D

The funny thing is (well, actually it's not too funny) my Dad has been out of work for nearly a year now and I found a job before he did. I didn't see that one coming a year ago.

Congrat's man, working at a popular music shop should be fun.

texasguitarslinger is a girl, lol

like i said in another post, i call everyone man

Way to go T.G.S., could this be the next step to your own Sig. Strat ?

Congrats,

If I worked in a music store, my employer would keep too much of my pay cheque--and I'd be taking home gear instead.

I know a friend of mine did that.

Congrats on the job.

Congrats. I always feel bad for techs though, I know after 4 or 5 months up and down the east coast I have brought in some seriously derranged gear, I can only imagine the nightmares they see.

Wait, a female saleswoman at a guitar store? If she's even halfway attractive and decently flirty, I would be in SO much trouble.

I'd be in every week or so to shop for a new guitar, cause everyone knows, a girl who plays guitar well instantly gets a +2 rating to their attractiveness on a 10 scale.

This could be the proverbial kid in a candy store scenario. I hope all goes well for you, just try to not spend your whole paycheck at work. You could be your own best customer  . Good luck and congrats.
