I'm trying to find sheet music for good slow blues, like Larry Carlton's Blues for TJ. Can you help me find some good examples?

Thanks, I appreciate the help!

Hi Rudy -

Amazon has a few blues songbooks listed, but I've never seen them :

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_ ... x=blues+so

also try www.sheetmusicplus.com

Good luck!

Blues For TJ is awesome.

Do you mean in standard notation? Most lesson books and artist lesson books have TAB and standard notation.

If you mean a single song, 1 sheet folder sheet music, I had no idea this is done for blues.

Good luck.

I definitely prefer standard notation, preferably including tab as is common with so many sheet music books made for guitar. I'm looking for some good examples of this kind of music, so the genre is important. If there's a good example in a book containing many other blues songs, I'd consider buying it.

'Sounds intriguing; will watch this thread.

Have you seen Richard Daniels' excellent book/CD "Fifty Blues Moves"?
Highly recommended.

for actual scores i have had good luck on www.musicnotes.com

great thing about this site also is that they allow you to transcribe it to a different key automatically before you print... great for us as we change the keys often....

Musician's Friend has a blues book called "Blues Guitar Tab - White Pages" that has 150 songs in it with tab and notation. I bought it and like it very much. MF lists the song titles on line if you're interested.

There's always the blues fake book to give you the general idea.

I cannot read regular sheet music but I think it would be highly unlikely outside of chords which are most of the time wrong inversions or in the wrong key for most guitar songs let alone a blues. With all the bending and position shifts I think it would be futile. Try and find some tabs and also look for live performances on youtube which will show you the positions to play in. I find live performances one of the biggest helps in learning a song.
