My SG's starting to send me a vibe saying that its really pissed off at me. I haven't played it plugged into the amp for about 1 month, in fact i dont even think I've touched it.
Any idea's of how I can make it feel better??

Epiphone, but whenever I pick it up I think, "Hmmm, I better go back to my strat", and forget about it.

you can make it feel better by selling it to someone who would enjoy it, and you could make a little money.

No way am I doing that! That'll be like, selling your brother you dont care about? You dont really care about him, but when he's gone you think, "man, what've I done?"

Yeah, the only time when I give my SG attention is when the strat's broken

I go through phases and sonner or later you will likely just have a SG vibe. Play her a bit and make her feel the love.

Same SG problem here. I had not played mine since buying my
AM Standard Strat in January until last week when I pulled it out of its case and plugged it in to the ProReverb. I will be honest I don't particularly like the sound, it lacks that character that I have always admired about the Strat. I can't imagine why I kept playing the SG for the last 35 years without ever having tried a Strat. Mind you the SG is a very comfortable axe with a good action and a place to rest your hand. Also the Bigsby type Trem seems very stable. I wonder if the pickups might have become a bit demagnetised over the years? This might account for the lacklustre sound. Also the amp gain settings are somewhat higher than for the Strat for the same output.
Regards.

72 SG deluxe. 74 SG System amp.
2009 Am Std. 1981 ProReverb.

'Couple years ago bought an SG Faded Brown at outrageous sale. Added "good" knobs, chome pup covers and new truss rod cover, had it mongo-pro setup, and it is one of THE sexiest guitars to play, there is.

That "faded" ultra-thin finish makes it feel like a naked guitar, and SGs are sexy to begin with.

Yup, right there with a truly fine American Standard Strat. Right there.

I got a G400 in Alpine White in on trade for a game console that I hadn't touched in months and really had no desire to buy new games for at the start of this month. I do love the flatter-feeling neck profile and the lightweight body, but the neck width kills my fingers. Going from it to my Strat or Jag is like going from wrapping my fingers around a telephone pole to a toothpick.

Its sale is currently pending. If it does sell, I have my eye on a Lake Placid Blue Powerhouse Strat body on eBay that would be a good friend to a maple Strat neck with locking tuners and FSR roller nut that I have stashed under my bed.

When your playing your SG do you stand up or sit down? I find standing up very awkward with an SG.
