A little over a year ago I quit my band. While I still loved playing, it was the late nights and lugging around equipment that just got to me. After a particularly brutally hot gig (it must have been 120 degrees under those lights) I decided it was time to hang it up, especially since I'm in my 40's.

I sold my 4x10 DeVille and my SG (kept my Strat and Tele) and figured I'd be happy enough with my acoustics and my little Vox practice amp.

Then a few months ago I fell in love with the American Special Strat and bought it on an impulse. I've been playing it constantly and now I'm starting to think I want to be back out there playing on stage.

It's funny how you only remember the good things...

I know the feeling. I just want to jam with people, I don't even care if it a true gig. It has been years since I have played with a whole group.

I quit my last band about a year and a half ago (for numerous reasons). We didn't do any bar/club gigs, but we did play at some private backyard parties. I miss being in a band, but not THAT band. In fact, lately I haven't even played much because it's just no fun by myself at low volume in my basement. I've been posting and answering on-line ads, but no luck yet. I don't even care about gigging; some guys have a poker or bowling night, I want a "band" night. I hope I find something soon, because I'm starting to lose interest in playing for the first time in over 30 years. As soon as I can get a new computer I may do some recording just to keep me occupied.
