With all of the people on this forum, I'm interested to know what kind of bands are represented. Tell us a little something about the band you're in. The type of music you do, how often you play out, some of your gear, how long you've been together, some highlights, etc. I'm sure there's a wide spectrum of music going on.

Well the band I'm in has been on hiatus since December but we're getting back together (with the addition of some new members) starting on the 24th of this month to write and record some new songs. We were a band for about 2-3 months before the hiatus but we've been playing together for 4-5 years. We started out as an Indie/Acoustic/Pop band (as that's what I love and am best at) that did simple little songs but we're (me and the lead guitarist/vocalist) getting back to our roots from when first started playing in bands together which is Pop-punk/Punk/Hardcore (Blink-182, Green Day, The Clash, The Ramones, Set Your Goals, Leathermouth, etc).

Some of the gear I use/have used is:
-Ibanez AS-73
-Epiphone AJ-200SCE
-Squier Bullet
-Squier Telecaster Custom
-Fender Frontman 212R
-DeltaLab SC-1 Chorus pedal

we just jam in the techshop right now so not sure i'd call it a "Band" but we do try and get together occasionally at

http://www.astoriasoundworks.com/rooma.html

So we can at least plug in and go to eleven. We like to just jam on nostalgic stuff since all of us have different tastes

I play guitar, there is a bass player, and keyboard player and a guy who either plays drum pads with BFD or we use Garage band to keep a basic beat. The funniest part of the whole thing is all the retarded disagreements and drama we seem to have and we aren't even a real band. I don't recall this much BS when i was playing in bands.

I'm in a classic rock band. Were lucky to play out, just about every weekend. Last gig was a cancer benefit, about 250 people that raised $8000.00. Most gigs vary between 40-60 people. We average about $400. per gig. We cover songs from the Stones, Aerosmith, Bad Co., Allman Bros., Marshall Tucker, Skynard, B.B King, Clapton, Cream, Doobie Bros., BTO, J. Geils, Wet Willie, SRV, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Tom Petty, The Cars, GrandFunk, Elvin Bishop, Bob Seger, Pink Floyd. Were taking a couple of weekends off to add some new songs to our sets. We've been together under a year, with a new bass player (6 months ago). A couple of people said our last gig, was the best we sounded. Hopefully true, I think the more we play out, we'll tighten up, and keep improving. Anyway, having a blast playing and trying to improve my chops. :D

Oh yeah, Band is called Slurred Vision on Facebook, a shameless plug.

Meh, dont really have a band. I have drummer to jam with, but he's just not really a good band person. I mean, he's awesome when he's on his own, but when you put a guitar in there, not so good. Plus he's also trying to get our other best friend to be bassist, he doesn't even like the music we plan to play.

Eddie & The House Rockers are a mature Blues based party/cabaret band founded in 2005. We play great blues, blues/rock, rock-a-billy and a touch of country.

We play originals as well as music by Muddy Waters, Tommy Castro, Jonny Lang, Susan Tedeschi, Delbert McClinton, Albert King, The Doors, Cream, Robert Gordon, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, ZZ Top, etc., etc.

My band is called What Katy Did. We're a four-piece rock outfit that plays mainly original music. I play the lead electric, while the singer plays acoustic about 90% of the time; the other two guys play the standards, bass and drums. We try and gig once a month, although sometimes we do more and sometimes less: mainly small town gigs and the odd night out at a bar in the city.

My band is a Christian Hardcore band... sort of.

We don't have much practice time. When the vocalists are present (we have two, they're brothers) they don't have the lyrics they wrote. Because of this, we haven't even been able to really write a song, just some riffs, ideas, etc. ): So we jam a lot, it's totally fun.

We would have potential though. The drummer's great, I'm pretty good, and our bassist is quite capable.

Our name is Bellum Vox, which means "war cry" in Latin.

I used to play in hard-core bands, but now I'm in a Reggae band. We play Originals at most gigs, but this Summer will be a lot of both originals and covers. New CD just finished. We have a steady Summer gig coming up at the Las Vegas Green Valley Ranch Casino poolside. We'll be doing mini California and Arizona tours to start, see where it goes from there (Hawaii hopefully).

I play lead guitar, I use a bunch of different guitars that I rotate. Squiers, Fenders, Hamer, Ibanez. Just depends on the gig. My main amp is usually my Roland JC-50, bigger shows Fender Hot Rod DeVille.

You can check out our music in the links below (myspace and .com).

And that's about it. We have a busy schedule coming up.

This could be our band, except our play schedule is once a month on average, due to different weekend work schedules and a singer that travels alot for work.

Have had lots of members through the group in the last 17 years that the drummer and I have played together, current 4 pc lineup steady for the last two.

I'm in a band that varies from 4 to 9 peices depending on the gig and personal availability. Mostly we have 5 or 8. We have a core of 5 people that do almost every gig. Drums, bass, rhythm guitar(me), lead guitar and keys, and we have a female singer. We all sing lead but the woman and I do most of the lead singing. The lead guitar/ keys players brother is also a guitarist/singer and he play a couple times a month with us. we play a lot of weddings and festivals, private parties, concerts. we gave up on the bar scene a couple years ago but play some restaurant/bar gigs just to have a public place to play for fans and to round out our schedule. Some months we have 5 or 6 gigs but some only 2 or 3. Vocals and harmonies are a high priority and something we are quite proud to be able to do. Lead guitar and I have been playing together for over 10 years, his brother about 8 years and the rest of the band is approaching 3 years. We have a lot of fun and we are all like a big family. We have band parties, cookouts and such throughout the year and always make time just to hang out sometimes. Practice once a week and we are always adding new songs, some for wedding requests and some just to stay current. We cover literaly everything from big band, jazz, country, rock, funk, hip hop, pop and any time frame from the 20s to something that just came out on the radio. We 6 people singing lead and the natural versitility of myself and our woman singer, we can give just about anything an impressive representation.

If nothing else, I think I have the longest reply on this thread and I haven't really even begun to describe our band. I'm really lucky to be in this band with these people. It took years of playing and chance meetings at just the right time, with people and other bands breaking up to bring us all together.
