Ok so something I would like to ask-

Who would you like to see, that hasnt already but deserves- a Fender signature/custom shop model guitar?

Does anyone think that perhaps some new models would be great to see?

Mine are:

Bruce Springsteen- perhaps a customshop tribute model.. he is known for his blonde tele

Maybe Johnny Greenwood as an avid Tele player.

What are yours?

Hi Blertles: I agree on the Springsteen Tele. The cover of Born To Run must have turned so many of us onto that particular look. Do I remember someone here saying Bruce had turned down a Sig, though...?

One that's been missing from the catalog for a long time is a Hank Marvin Sig. Not well known in the States I guess, but so many kids everywhere else in the world picked up a Strat because of Hank. And it has been a nicely spec'd guitar when they've done it in the past. Maybe not huge sales, but steady, you'd have thought...?

Cheers - C

Ahh yes, there is allways the suggestive '59 fiesta red strat with gold hardware and birdseye that escapes every now and then

I know who he is, although not down around my part of the world he isnt that famous. My father knew of him though- he was a Cliff Richard fan :) perhaps its just my era- the youth of today eh...

Ahh Ceri- I have to tell you, there indeed was infact a Hank Marvin Sig guitar. I have a book with a pic of it, funny enough and I could be wrong by saying it was only destined for the UK market. 22 frets, gold hardware, Fiesta Red, etc... its a tasty guiytar but Im thinking that birdseye neck would be CS territory..

Note the bridge, cast/sealed tuners and the sig. on the pickguard...

I see you have Jonny Greenwood covered (my usual pick for this topic when it comes up!), although something tells me he's just not the kind of guy to put his name to a guitar. Who knows — maybe they're working on a tribute Starcaster as we speak...

Otherwise...

Steve Marriott Tele!

You know you want one... Small faces FTW...

I agree that a jonny greenwood sig would be good, also as someone mentioned in the tele forum, an Andy Summers tele would be nice.

I made a thread about a Hendrix Strat. I think he deserves a signature strat the most.

Mick Mars. He's been using Strats now, for the last 16 years, and Motley Crue has influenced so many Metal and rock bands since they debuted in the early 80's. If anyone deserves a signature model, it's Mick.
Only he's way more associated with les paul's and Kramers than Strats. Sure he's been using one for a while, but arguably for the period in which he has released his least popular work.

He didn't name any of his kids Leo, or Stratocaster, but he did name one Les Paul.
