I always love the intro to Tool's The Pot. When the guitar starts up, it just pounds. There's nothing to it as far as being flashy, it just has that eerie single notation that makes you grit your teeth.

Another one I like is Deftones My Own Summer. Same effect I guess. Maybe I'm just a sucker for simplicity.

These intros just have a simplicity that works its way into your bones.
