You don't suck at all. I like it.

I'm not just being nice 'cause I'm not nice:

There was nothing wrong with this. It's a rhythm track of an engaging progression. It's a strong start of an unfinished work. It was even and articulated with consistency, a moment of hesitation or doubt a little past midway.

A faint acoustic guitar doubling, a vocal or instumental lead, bass line and percussion and you've got an original song, Go_me. For sure.

It's a nice start to a song. I hope you think of a melody and develop it into something. It's definitely worth pursuing. :D

It doesn't matter how good your friends say you are, whenever you hear yourself played back from a recording it's deflating to the ego. That's when you realize your meter isn't as good as you thought it was, your guitar's state of tune is a little off and you wonder how you didn't hear that at the time and those tiny little mistakes you thought you caught in time to not be heard come through quite plainly anyhow. It's a humbling experience especially the first time you hear yourself.

My rule of thumb for recording is always play the simplest part possible. Better to play a simpler part and do it perfectly than to try to be impressive and sound like a beginner.

I couldn't listen to your file because my Flash isn't up to suff. Another time.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I think it was cool, as Taurus said it is a good rhythm track that you can develop into a song by adding more tracks. If you are going to develop it then let us hear it after those changes as well. Sounds good Bro, play on.

That doesn't suck at all, I liked it. It needs some practice to perfect, but it's a solid basis for a song. Keep on recording! 8)

I'd say don't be so hard on yourself but that's a great way push yourself and develop. I don't think it sucked at all. I liked it, and for something you layed down without drums or even no apparent click track you did a good job at keeping a consistent rhythm.

Keep up the good work.

Besides... you haven't heard my playing...

I agree 100%...Your rhythm was good. If you really want to hear yourself warts and all on a recording dump the effects then you can "hear" the mistakes easier...

Also your ears (the ones attached to your head) perceive sound differently from an ambient mic. The sound in your head may be rich and full but when you listen to the recording it sounds entirely different...

I know I used to think I could sing until somebody recorded it and I thought gee that sounds like Neil Young with a head cold singing thru cellophane... :lol

Nope not bad, you just notice every little flaw and mistake because you're listening for them. To everyone else, it sounds good.

That was a damn good rhythm track Nick. I used to record almost everything I played and the weird thing is that sometimes you feel you nailed it and it was not the best and other times the opposite happens.. Also you played it for a pretty tough crowd that would of pointed out every clam, unless you were so bad no one would want to comment. You are where you should be and just keep the guitar in your hands as you will only get better.

You don't suck at all, add some lyrics and a bridge and you have a great tune. I think everyone thinks they suck when they hear themselves recorded, you're doin' fine, keep it up.
