does anyone remember this song from the 60' s? i think b. j. thomas did it. anyhow, i was wondering if anybody knew how they got that interesting sound on the guitar lead. it sounds similar to the boxtops' "cry like a baby."
if someone knows the effect used, or how they got that sound, i would be indebted.

When I first saw this topic, I guess I had a brief neuron misfire...I started humming "more than a feeling" by Boston.

Listening to the real original song.... sounds like an early electric sitar. Wikipedia also mentions an electric sitar being used.

Good call, Nev. :)

It's a Coral Electric Sitar made by Danelectro.

Jerry Jones is a builder that makes a modern version of the same.
