Has anyone in here got a G DEC? They seem awsome but I thought I would seek other peoples opinions. I currently have a Hot Rod Deluxe, but am thinking of trading it for a G DEC as it seems to have more versatility for practising at home.
Anyone wish to throw their 2cents in?

I have the original 30. I tried it for the first time at a rehearsal because our drummer was running late. It kept good time, but my guitar sounded like arse.
It's okay as a practice amp, but not too great at jams. My 6 watt Champ is way better and cuts way better too. The midi and over processed presets suck too.

Anyway the new 3 series looks like fun. Still has over processed presets but it uses live tracks.

Do yourself a favor and sell the HRDlx on Craigslist you'll take a serious beating if you trade it in. Look at the Line 6 Spider Jam too.

I don't know. What I should say is to sell it privately. You'll always get the short end of the stick on a trade in.

Eccentric,
Not an even trade by any stretch. Keep the Hotrod and pick one up used. I have one and it was a novelty for a while but the tracks on the original are not much good for anything except practice.(boring) It stays in my bedroom with a spare guitar in case I become inspired to try something.
There are some neat features on it but I'd just as soon pull a jam track off the internet.

well all i would use it for is practising at home. I'm not in a band or anything at the moment so I don't really see the sense in keeping it. That's why I was considering a GDEC, more for the amp modelling than anything else :)

With the Line six, you'll have enough power to gig with if you ever want to.
