Not me ... I have great respect for him, though, primarily how he included latin rhythms into rock music. I have seen him numerous times, and have even met him (he was very nice, by the way). I thought his "Inner Secrets" and "Marathon" were very good, and I do still listen to these albums. But, alas, I was never a huge fan of the early stuff, and everything I heard after Marathon seemed pretty forgetful.

Sorry, just keepin' it real. Just my $0.02 ... I am not a hater ...

Fabulous guitar player. Not a fan of all of his music, but I do have some favorites.

He's not bad, but in all reality, i dont think he would be much without Peter Green. you listen to Santana and you hear Peter Green everywhere. He even tried to do black magic woman better than Mr Green!

Santana is good but give me Peter Green any day.

+1

# Santana (1969)
# Abraxas (1970)
# Santana III (1971)

these 3 albums cemented Carlos Santana's place in Rock and Roll music history.

Yeah, he's a great guitarist and plays off some fantastic latino rhythms. Brilliant for listening too down on the beach, wearing a Brazilian soccer strip and kicking a ball around with some mates.
I do that often. (not)

If that means I scored a goal, I've taken my shirt off and I'm running about the pitch swinging it around. Hey up lads, have it, eat my goal. Yay :D

I've always been a fan since the late 60s,but all the guest solos he has done on people's songs lately sound the same....makes him sound somewhat boring and predictable....and that's a shame.

I am, though I'm not a very big one. "Abraxas" was a great album.

I'm not only a Carlos Santana fan. I think Carlos Santana is the best guitar player I've ever heard. While I don't always like some of his songs with Latin rhythms, his virtuosity on the guitar is unparalleled. Did you ever see the video he did of his concert in Mexico City several years ago? It was a classic. His range is amazing.

I'm not totally emersed in guitar playing or guitar music, but I've been been loving music all my life, have been to over 100 concerts not to mention club performances, have heard some of the best. But Carlos Santana is the best guitar player I've ever heard in my 64 years on this earth.
