Hello everyone, just thought I would introduce myself, as I have indeed always been enthusiastic for all things Fender, and now I own the real deal!

A little about myself: My first guitar was a 1996 Squire Strat which I received for my my 13th birthday. It was always my go-to, and favorite. It just felt right. Heck, would prefer it over a Gibson Les Paul!
When I joined a touring band, I naively bought a Fernandes Vertigo Elite for the look and features (sustainer), but it was like playing an anvil with strings.
Later, I bought another $80 Squire specifically for use in Europe and England tours, which I preferred over the Fernandes.
Less than one month ago, my birthday strat got swiped from a rehearsal studio, and you can imagine the feeling. All I have left is the trem bar.

But of course, sometimes things in life are taken from us to widen our grasp for something greater, which brings me to my latest joy, the Fender USA "Select" Model:

Its one of those few guitars in life that make everything feel...right.
Thanks for your time, long live Fender!

Its referred to as the American Select, according to MusiciansFriend:

Couldn't be more pleased, and thanks for the welcome!

Hmmm...the guy at GC told me it was Deluxe...has the S1 switch and LSR roller nut and locking tuners...paid a grand for mine...has the little "60" badge on the back of the head...in any case it's been a sweet guitar, although I'd like to put different single coils in mine.

Totally feel ya on the single coils, I was hoping down the line to find a good coil tapping alternative instead of the S-1 function.

8bitdeath,

welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you had you old guitar stolen, but what a cool guitar to replace it with. I have not played on one of those American Selects yet. Hope to see you around. What kind of music you play with the band?

my own project is like agent orange/samhain, the band I tour in is like Atari Teenage Riot meets The Clash, while playing laser tag with Kraftwerk.

Thats the best I can do, haha!
