yes, i'm going to whine. summer is here again and i've started back working 6 days a week for which i'm thankful. it's extremely physical work under the texas sun. my only day off is sundays which is rehearsal day. one of my bandmates is retired, one sets his own hours and the other is a foreman. today, i'd much rather be at home, watching the race and drinking cold beverages and aggrivating my wife and dogs.
this sucks because if i ditch, then next weekend one of the others will have something come up and so on.........till we skip a whole month of practice and we all forget everything.
anyone else in this situation? what did you do? i'd be happy to stay home and build a new pedalboard like Mr. Nik's and tweak on my sounds.
someone please feel free to give me swift kick in the rear. i need it. my tank is on empty and i have another huge, heavy delivery 1st thing tomorrow morning.
in closing, i'll just say........ i'm getting old.

jeebus, you're a whiner. be thankful you have the opportunity to work and play music. better yet, be thankful you're alive and in good health. grab you're favorite axe and go practice like there's no tomorrow. quit being a wus and posting selfish jibberish. you should be kicked off this forum for such selfishness. some of us aren't in a band and would gladly take you're place you big doofus. jeez, what a crybaby. do you not have anything better to do?
there, that's what i was looking for.

+1 to your last post!

I would give a lot to be in your position today. Going off to practice is one of the things I miss the most.

I'm in Fort Worth, myself. Were are you, Tex? :)

stratobobster, i'm in euless, right next to DFW airport. i'm waiting for wifey to get ready, and i'll be off to practice. it's not that i don't want to practice, i'm just whipped. my body and brain is drained. again, more whining. there are alot of folks who would love to be in my shoes right now. that is what i need to focus on.

oooh, oh, oh, oh, does it hurt and have temperature ? so tired and achy and feeling so ichy, don't want to practice 'cause it's just so hard, am jeebus ever gonna get some rest and a little break owy owy ow ow  snap out of it kid! if it was supposed to be easy all of the time there wouldn't be any money in it or any thing else either. if you go to rehearsal you will feel better I guarantee it, keep your chin up, your shoulder to the wheel, your nose to the grindstone and your ear to the ground 'cause if you can play guitar in that position every one will pay to see you and you will be famous in no time. Really though little Bro you will make it, rehearsal will be fine and regular work will too, you are just feeling what we all do from time to time and it will pass. Now get your guitar and go to rehearsal!

Yup, work sucks. Life puts too much emphasis on money.

Sounds like you'd benefit from having Saturdays off for a nice 2-day weekend.

jeebus- I'm in AZ and I'm a contractor. It's getting hotter everyday. By the time I get to rebuilding a dryrotted gazebo next week, it's gonna be brutal. Especially working with my arms over my head, looking up into the sun. Walking from my truck to the Home Depot, is like walking through hell.
I'd much rather be inside, or on my patio watching the doves elbow and gouge each other at my bird feeder. Vicious creatures.

Why couldnt we have been born rich, instead of good looking?

Not reading any more posts from people and gonna get to my point.
You gotta either sort your shifts out (which i wouldnt reccomend) OR say to the band that you need to ditch for a while at least and sort your $@!& out. Good Luck man
