have you noticed an abundance of new members lately, making one to two posts? well if you have, i know why they are putting links to their "product" on their info page.

edit: and how about this guy? he made a whole post to advertise his product, while stating he made the post for his nephew, if you look at his profile you get some health club website on his profile that right when i went to i got hit with a virus.

this list goes on and on and lately they are becoming more and morecommon on our boards. they post in threads where they can make comments non guitar related and they use their account to get their "product" out.


i know there really is no way to stop this, but i wanted to make it public to yall so i can show you who has been posting on here lately and what type of problem we have arrising.

i dont think the guy posting for his nephew, or anyone whose post isnt related to a business for that matter, is actually trolling.... if they have a business and have website for it, then whats wrong with putting a link to the website in the spot on their profile that say "website"?

I dunno. I appreciate the effort that went into sluething this out but I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. Innocent until proven guilty. Once they reveal themselves for their true nature then let's have at 'er. Or if they turn out to be totally retarded idiots spewing dumb crap all over the place then we can jump all over them for that too but just for being new or not very frequent visitors, I dunno about that. Truth is some people already have a website related to their way of making a living when they sign up to forums like these and they list those web sites on their profiles hoping to catch a few extra hits. We have all kinds of people on here with web sites on their profiles. Some guitar related, some not.
