That Mr Chet Feathers, what a absolute top bloke.

A couple of weeks back I was looking to buy a Bill Lawrence QFilter. I use my tone controls a lot. Anyway Monsieur Feathers contacted me, said he had one and that he'll post it to me. He absolutely refused any payment of any kind. And he also included some Vpicks.

Well I can tell you I was quite skeptical about the claims made of Vpick performance. I never drop plectrums. I lose them, I melt them, I find em under scratchplates and in pickup cavities. I never ever drop em though, so the better grip is not a issue I casn comment on. The tone however is, the attack and presence difference is absolutely unreal. Whether that is to do with the material their made of or the size of the things giving more confidence and control, I dont know. The difference in sound is very very real. I've even compared my old faithfull brass plectrum that I've had for years and never found anything better than. Well it's not top dog anymore.

The Qfilter is a thing of wonder too. it took all of a minute and a half to wire. My guitar actually has a tone control now, not just a treble reduction pot. It actualy changes the tone of the guitar rather than just giving a overly bassy sound. Even with the pot on zero its clear and defined. The tone pot responds smoothly too. I put it in my Baja Tele, even the out of phase sounds on that guitar are valid usable good sounds now. You can just temper the treble enough to make em sound different but valid and usable.

What about our Chet eh, what a guy. What an absolute 24carrat gold, diamond geezer.

Cheers Chet, your a top bloke.

:D Jeez! Chet IS a top man! Big time! Thats class Ninja man. I'd love to hear that Tele now.

I'm gonna have to give these V-Picks a try, never in all my days as a player have I heard so many good things about plectrums.

No doubt about it since the first day I came on the forum, Chet has always been nothing but a class act. Also a major spokes man for his pal Vinni who invented them. There is a great back post of Chet at Vinni's where they are made with some great pics. Unlike Niki I have picks slip around in my hands. I have found a pick I really like but I ordered some Vs and they should be here anyday as I am dying to try them out. They are really taking off big time and there was just a great review in one of the guitar mags raving about them. Not something you see often a rave review about a pick.

I've got to agree mate, those v-picks are somethin' else. Try the traditional 4, it actually makes the blues sound bluesier. Nice for getting that Greeny sound.
When I heard Chet recommended these about a year back, I tried them out and wow, the search was over.
Your new set up there sounds good, should compliment the v-pick nice.
Cheers man. 8)

Chet is, amongst many other things, one of the founding fathers of this Forum. For newer users who perhaps don't know, so much of the friendly spirit of this place comes from the work he and a handful of others (ahem - Mike, Doc - cough) did in the early times to set the right tone. And it has lasted!

Diamond geezer indeed.

Chet has helped me out TONS with builds and projects in the past! All of the parts (except for the SD vintage tele pup) on my "Camocaster" build were obtained thru Chet. All of the hardware and some electronics for my 1st, 2nd: she's almost done Nick, and 3rd (still gonna be a while, Kev) electric CBG's came from chet too! Not to mention a few late night texts about certain specs or settings and custom parts.

He's always on the spot with tech help, tips or general advice!

Here's to you Chet! A top shelf gent! 8)
