i really hate to hear that. i'm going on 2 years with a company i walked out on 6 years ago. i also work part-time for my play money.
the last 10 years have been strange. the older i get, the less patience i have for lazyness, unaccountability and absences.
i thank God our small company has survived. but, i work every day like it could be my last. every day.
with your wife's experience, i'm sure someone will be smart enough to hire her.

20 years at my current job (and with reasonable evidence that I have at least 2 more reasonably safe from "early retirement" years ahead).

My target is to retire at 62.5 so, fingers crossed ... just 5 years to go!

24 years at UPS. Been a delivery driver for the last 13. Its a really good company to work for money and benefit wise. I feel very fortunate every day I go to work. Good luck to those of you who haven't been as fortunate.

I just got laid off after ten years. We lost two contracts in our division, and one-quarter of us were laid off...two of us had ten years, one of us was a twenty-year veteran of the company.

I know things will work out, and I'll either get called back or find something new.

I don't get my ultimate fulfillment in life through my career--that is from my family, my faith, my friends (and my Fenders--lol).

I've been teaching with the same board for 11 years, but this is only the second year for me in this position.

I am sorry to hear about your wife's situation, hopefully it works out that something better is just around the corner. I have been teaching for 21 years, 12 of them teaching art. Love my job but.... still have 22 to go before I can retire. That is a LOTTA years teaching, hope I retain my sanity.

I have been working for the same bookstore for eight years already and it does not seem like it will change.

On and off and on and off and on and off and off and more off, then on again then some more off and back on again since forever. Can you tell I'm a guitarist?

I play in 3 bands and have played in many others over the years plus I promote small concerts and am involved in cross community music projects.

At the minute I'm trying to put Energy Orchard back together for a reunion and I'm playin in whatever clubs will take me and the boys.
