I remember reading where Limewire had some good word usage and clever loopholes in their terms of user agreement that every person who downloads agrees to. This "legaleese" was a helpful aspect of how they were able to go on for so long without being touched by the lawyers.

I've been taking heat for bringing home new vinyl. To my old fart ears it still sounds better, but now I have to burn a cd from it because my car doesn't have a cassette player.

It must be great for intellectual property lawyers now that it's stunningly easy to violate copyright law.

All you need is Audacity software to convert any youtube video into an mp3 and play it anywhere....and have you noticed all of the copyright violations on YouTube...

I do not down load music. I like the CD, CD case, and everything that comes with it. I will copy the cd to my computer and put it on my MP3 player myself.

I especially do not like low cost or no cost music downloads. I think the bands gets ripped off when people download music for free. It is already hard enough for new bands to make a living, but take away their music sales...that is just wrong and any musician or aspiring musician should have their heads examined if they think ripping off bands is cool.

Down with the record labels, they are the real bandits here! Artists make money on merch, not record sales! You don't need labels anymore!

Some of us even remember when you could record your own 8-track cartridge and play it in your ragtop.

The internet and file sharing have done nothing but help me and my couple of upstart bands, word of mouth and dl's got ppl to shows and I care WAY more if ppl come see From the Ashes or No More Heroes than if they spend $5 on our CDs. When NMH are done with our album I have every intention of putting it up on a torrent tracker.

$@!&, even Tom Gabel from Against Me! gave away lyrics and liners and stuff when their new album, White Crosses, leaked.

I love what the internet has done to music, it's so much more personal now, the rock star is a dying codger at last.

And the all time Way Back Machine winner-Dubbing cassettes from a reel to reel and adding Dolby to kill some of the hiss.
