Nothing will beat the original!!

I love everything Guns although Slash pisses me off these days with his ways. Saying that I will see Slash at Download festival and again here in Belfast in June but to be honest it's in the hope Izzy Stradlin does his thing and turns up!! 8)

I think it goes without saying I'm the self ordained high priest of all things GN'R here though.

It was a cool spin on the original but a cut like that would not make me want to run out and get the CD, which I am going to. It is all the new originals with a good pick of vocalist that will do that, Fergie sounded like she was giving it her all and the song sounds like the chorus is in the same key which shows how amazing Axle was.

Of note though, Steven Adler played on that version but it's not on the regular CD.

Did anybody catch Slash on the Ellen Degeneris Show with Adam Lavine from Maroon 5?

This is also a vocal by Fergie. Really good I must admit. She can belt. One of my favorites from the album.

Amen to that...

I wasn't into that. Was never a huge huge fan of them but i think they ROCK! I LOVE the song Night Train.

CC... you have an infectious love for GNR that inspires us all. I imagine its very similar to how I am about Iron Maiden. I think I drove the folks I work with nuts with all things Maiden. And its about to begin again with the upcoming tour.

I did not think it was atrocious, guess Slash did it in a way to get it played on the radio these days but there probably are some really good tracks on there as he worked with a lot of talented vocalist. G&R was in my book the last great rock band for me even though they self destructed way to fast. But they proved there greatness on vinyl and live as the 2 times I saw them rank up there with anyone I have seen, and I have seen a lot of the greats at the top of there game.

To me anything GnR related away from the original GnR is not very good but that's just my opinion.

As everyone here and their grandma knows I've had my involvements with a couple of the boys over the years with my bands but it will never stop me being an uber fan of nearly everything.

I love all 6 incarnations of GN'R over the years but obviously the original are the best hands down. (Even though thats technically NOT the original line-up but now I'm bein picky  )

Of the spin offs it goes, again, without saying that I love all 10 Izzy Stradlin albums and he is without a doubt the reason I play guitar. The guy can just do anything plus he wrote or co-wrote 8 of the 12 songs on Appetite, 6 of the 8 on Lies and 12 of the 30 on the Illusions. Plus a lot of those solos people think are Slash is actually Izzy and he sang lead vocals on 4 songs from the Illusions as well.

I like both line-ups of Slash's Snakepit too. Both those albums are great and IMO the last great playing from Slash. Someone should really get him drunk again so he can unleash the beast within.

Duff's stuff is ok solo but I prefer his bands 10 Minute Warning, Neurotic Outsiders and Loaded who play here a lot. It's cool he plays on 5 of Izzy's albums though.

Adler's Appetite's stuff is crap to be honest but at least my old band got to tour with him. The guy is a mess though!

Velvet Revolver could have been much better, saw them a few times and like some songs but they had so much more potential I thought.

Slash's new album I'm still kinda weird about, don't know what to think, good to hear Izzy, Duff and Steve on there and I will see him twice in June and make up my mind then most likely.

As for the rest of the alumni who aren't original members, Gilby Clarke has 1 good album out of 5 and thats only cos of his guests holding it up.

From all I hear on the grapevine the guys will get back together some day. I do know they have a gentleman's agreement never to have more than 3 of the original 5 on stage at the same time so it's never just one missing.

I live in hope and I will make damn sure we are on the bill for that one if it kills us!!
