It's not a Fender so I posted it here.

I was debating about this gig bag. I like the padding and that I could fit my laptop into it along with a ton of accessories.

Also, I was liking this Fender gig bag (I have a hard case, but want a better gig bag than the one that came with my guitar. I take it to work sometimes and play during my breaks so I'd like a better gig bag)

What do you think? I have a Fender Squier. (it's a cheapie but I like it so :P ) It's a good starter electric for me.

I'm not a huge fan either, but it's better on my back to carry my guitar like a backpack. If I have to do anything else without a lot of carrying, then I go with a hard case (which I use for my classical because it's light anyway. My Fender is a bit heavy and carrying it by the handle is a bit strenuous on my back due to an injury).

Damb. The Fender tweed is a great price. When I was looking, it was about $35, so I went with this one instead.

Seem to be about the same quality, but I like the MF pocket layout better than the Fender. I'd love a hard case, but I don't travel with mine much. Working on setting up something with someone, so I may be out more often. Will probably look for a hard case then.

I prefer hard shell cases over the gig bags. I had a couple of gig bags that came with guitars......but I immediately bought hard shell cases for the guitars. It's actually paid off, due to a few spills, and bumps and bangs. I don't see using anything less. I ended up giving the gig bags away.

I don't trust gig bags--the closest I came to liking one has a hard plastic insert that is almost like a hard shell case shoved inside a gig bag--but I forget the brand.

HSC for me.

I have never bought a guitar that came with a gig bag but I own 3 of them as I like to use one instead of a case if I am not going to far or have to jet fast. Personally I liked the Gator the best as it seemed the best built out of the 3. Then again you could get a nice Fender case on ebay for just about that price if you wish. Just put in Fender guitar cases in the search box. You can also get a gig bag cheaper on the bay to.

I like tweed, but in moderation. Like on an amp :)

I was liking a tweed case, then when I saw one in person- I was like "Dang that thing is yellow!!" Mind you, it wasnt fender. I like the slightly dirty tweed look myself :)

I only have a gig bag and not a hard case. The gig bag is little more than scratch protection and a pocket for spare strings and a couple of tools and that's all I expect from it. I don't take my Strat out of the house very often and I bought a used Ibanez gig bag on the cheap when I got the guitar.

For $104 I would be looking at a decent molded hard case.

Just my 2¢ worth. 8)

All my guitars have hard cases and I still use a gig bag for my tele. It's a delight to use and offers more than good enough protection. Not sure I'd want to throw my laptop in there with it too.

Well padded gig bags our great and easier to transport. Wish I could use them, but I use hardshell cases, due to jamming gear in cars & trucks. I need extra protection for my babies. :)

Well my friend has one of these for his bass and says they are really good.

Fender do these which are also meant to be really good.

Hope this helps. I don't buy cases like these any more. I'd rather have a hard case and have my pedal board and laptop seperatley so they are well protected. Each to their own :)[/url]

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll hold out for a better case for now. I'm drooling over a Peavy vypr amp right now.

If you get a gig bag, and you perform, it's best to get one that has shoulder straps so you can carry it on your back... I don't know what I would do without my gig bag to transport my guitar/tuner/stand etc... and I can carry it on my back while I wheel around my amp and carry my music all in one trip...

gig bags are Very convenient... If your don't act careless, there is nothing wrong with a gig bag... Besides, there is always a risk of your axe getting damaged when you perform.. I feel more nervous about leaving my guitar on stage during breaks than I do leaving it in my bag... And the guitars I bring are sometims $2000 + in value...

This is a nice bag..

I reccomend the expensive one simply due to it being more comfortable and the laptop aspect is awesome too :)
