Yeah, that Gibson has been for sale online for quite some time...

Where in SK? I'm in Saskatoon, obviously.

Just a tad out of this Iowa Farmer's price range. Beats the diamond I just saw on Amazon by about $100K.

Great Scott: I look after my instruments quite well, but that is in just bionically good condition for a 50 year old guitar! Wow - someone's got that time machine up and running it seems.

A snip at the price. I'll take two.

Cheers - C

Ah.....Norman's selling on fleabay now.

Times must be tough for the vintage market. He had a '59 Les Paul for quite awhile that just sold on fleabay last month!

Well there is no doubt that is the real Mcoy holy grail as it seems we are all familiar with Norms and his reputation. As Ceri stated it is in as good a condition as you will ever find for a 50 year old ax or for any ax for that matter. Now that is definitely a closet classic as that is where it seems to have been hiding all these years. I believe Nevin had posted the famous guitar room scene from Spinal Tap the other day and Christopher Guest who plays Nigel whom he based on Jeff Beck borrowed a lot of the guitars for that scene from Norms who is a friend of his. He just sold the famous Dont touch Dont Look Bass VI from that scene in February for $40,000. It is going to be hard to get that kind of money for that guitar these days where as four or five years ago it would of been gone in a flash. I read a great article with a bunch of big vintage dealers some months back ,and one of them was saying his friend was offered 350K for a 59 but he turned it down two years ago. He went on to say his friend was in a bind this year and needed to sell it and the highest offer he had gotten was $170K, as that is how bad the market is these days. Unless I had Bill Gates type money that would be the only way I would buy an ax like that, but boy that sure looks like the one to have.
