I'm running my guitar and amp rig thru the pa when we play out. The amp is a Marshall MG250DFX with a 1/4 line out, and I'm using a '04 Strat with noiseless pickups, a '89 Les Paul Studio with Seymore Duncans, and a Pedaboard with a Compressor, delay, Blues Driver, tuner, and phase shifter. What's the best way to set the channel on the pa? Flat? Maybe use a mic on the amp instead?
It's a three way system with 18" bottoms, and an SP2 on each side. Other than spending more coin on a wireless to stand out front and listen myself, I thought there may be some guidelines to follow. My stage sound I like, but I'm trusting someone else to run my sound out front. We have no soundman, we just do a quick soundcheck ( a song), with the singer out front to make sure we're not blasting the walls out. Any suggestions?

Mic' your speaker, dont DI a guitar amp alone. Keep your bass and mid settings on the amp way up and your treble on next to nothing or zero. You'll only have to add a bit more mid and maybe a slight touch of treble at the board that way.
You have to mic a cab or use a emulator nothing sounds worse than a DI'd guitar live. Personaly if your set on going straight to PA you cant go wrong with a POD. The speaker emulation is already there with it. It's also a lot easier to lug around.

I agree with Nick, especially without a dedicated soundguy that knows all of your tunes.

An SM-57 and SENN e609 work great for mic'ing :
