Strange that no one has mentioned this yet:-

travel back to 1953, request that Leo makes me a new guitar because I don't like the telecaster, give him a 'rough' sketch of a stratocaster and tell him to make it.

Instant life long recognition as the man that changed the sound of music.

Oh and whilst I was there I would have a word in his ear about the while CBS issue that would arrise in a few years.

Well, I would buy a 1956 Strat, in Green, like the one in the stratocaster book, for you who have the book.

and then maybe go to 1970 and make sure Jimi take's it easy that night.

- I would buy a brand new 1954 Stratocaster (First year of Strats), and keep it in mint condition.

- I don't know If I'd change anything, but I'd like to see Jimi Hendrix live at least once.

1. Any pre-war Martin would make me smile.

2. I'd go back to Eden and stop Eve from biting the apple so we would all be living in paradise!

He was. It would probably be a little bit different, but it would still be there.

GET RID OF HITLER, especially because both my parents' families were killed either in Lodz Ghetto or the gas chamber. Both my parents(RIP) spent time in Lodz Ghetto and Auschwitz;
After Auschwitz, my father was in Gleiwitz, Gross-Rosen, Althammer, Blechhammer, and finally Dachau before ending up in Landsberg DisplAced Persons Camp.
After Auschwitz, my mother was in Stutthof and Bergen-Belsen (same camp as Anne Frank) and then Landsberg, which is where they first met.

I'd go back in time and get a 54' nocaster.

If I could change one event I'd tell Stevie Ray V to take a limo and not fly.

Hi mclmk8d: departing for a minute from the light-hearted spirit of this thread - I'm very moved by what you've written here.

I have a tiny bit of family history on that from a completely different angle: my maternal grandfather was a film cameraman in a newsreel unit attached to (I believe I have this right) the British 11th Armoured Division which liberated Belsen in 1945. Some of the film record of that atrocity was his.

The phrase; "We must never forget", is crucial.

...Back to the topic.

Cheers - C

An original Gibson L5 or a 50's Tele!

I'd do many things, Hitler is a given, I'd stab the bastard in the face before he rose to power quite frankly.

I'd also like to go to Lisbon, 25th May 1967 to see Celtic become the first British team to win the European Cup.

I could go to beach down the hill from my Mums house and watch the Titanic sail past in 1912.

I'd like to see Guns N' Roses play an L.A. club in 85 before they got huge. I could even tie up Izzy in a cupboard and join the band!!

Preventing 9/11 would be great too or anything else atrocious as that.

Like Ceri I could go back and tell my 17 year old self a thing or two but I know what I'm like and we'd only end up fighting each other and my 17 year old self would kick my $@!.
