Hey, I own a Fender Rumble 100 (1x10"), good tone, very bright. However, it may need a little help of the PA sometimes. In my church we use a Peavey Combo 155 (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/ ... index.html) It's incredibly loud, really I mean it.

Well I've been looking around for a while now and I'm really liking the small 15W amp heads out there. The top 3 that fall in your price range are the Vox Night Train, Orange Tiny Terror and the Marshall Haze 15 which just had a price drop. You can get these heads for about $450-$500. You'd need a cab as well obviously but those run about $200. The Marshall does have some effects which may or may not interest you. In your price range there is a lot of choice, almost too much but that's a nice problem to have.

You may want to try thr Egnater Tweaker too. 15 watts with all kinds of EQ tweaks, plus it's also cathode biased. So you can experiment with different tubes and not worry about biasing. Like I said a million time, I'm thrilled with my Egnater Rebel 30. The head runs around $400 and $250 for the cab.

I tried the Tweaker last week and that thing is a blast. I liked it a bit better than the Night Train. It's all up to your ears and playing style.

Thanks for all the info guys :D

I would love to go with Tubes. I have had trouble with our churches solid states :? Me and electronics don't really get along....

I would love to go with the head/cabnet, and I've heard a lot of good things about the Night Train, Tiny Terror, and Haze. But do you have to buy the matching cabnets?

Also is 15W a good way to go? If I ever need it to be louder I could just mic it through a PA or something if I were to be playing down at our town's showroom?

I been thinking about a lot of the Fender amps mentioned too. It was probably a little nearsighted of me to buy my strat and not save up enough money for a decent amp too.

You could also look into a Peavey Classic 30 combo, which I feel is one of the best tube combos out there today.

One of those bad boys is sitting in my favorite local guitar store. I have to agree, it sounds pretty amazing. :)
