I hate to speak of the competitors, but Gibson Guitars in the Opry Mills Mall was flooded to, and most of their equipment for sale was sitting on stands on the floor. I imagine they lost most of their inventory - if not all.

On the upside, there will probably be some incredible deals on those instruments. Water would probably mess the electronics up, but couldn't you just replace them? And maybe the metal parts would rust, but wouldn't the body and neck part of the guitar be all right after you let it dry out?

That's awful! I don't have near that many but would hate to lose any one of them.
Was he in the downtown area or outlying areas,I'm 45 miles west of Nashville.

They'll probably sell them for more money now, that's the new Flood Worn models.

It's sad when people loose stuff regardless of their status.

This would be a great pr opportunity for Fender to show their support for all these great artists. And besides that, it's just the right thing to do. Helping others always pays off. A lot of these artists give a lot of their money and time to help charities and others in need. No matter how much money a person has, a loss like this is still a loss. Some things can't be replaced.

I'm not exactly sure where he was storing them, but he lived in Franklin so possibly somewhere around there. It could have been his house that flooded, but he spends most of his time out of state so he wasn't there at the time.

Regarding Sound Check, its not just the famous people that lost their stuff, there is lots of other guys that keep their stuff there that has lost their equipment! A close friend of mind's stuff is still underwater, including very sentimental pieces he has had for years

It continually amazes me that people can be surprised by flooding caused by rain in other parts of the state. I grew up in Arizona, and one of the first things you're taught is don't play in dry riverbeds if the mountains are cloudy. Water has to go somewhere. Bet the guy that owns the storage place is hating life right about now. (so's his insurance guy!!!)

There was no way to predict that the rain event sitting on top of us was going to be so savage. And by the time anyone in that area realized that the river was going to rise so high, the roads in and out were already impassable so there was no way anyone could get in and save anything.

The amazing thing to me - even after losing all that equipment and having their houses affected, a bunch of the country music stars held a music telethon last night that raised $1.7 million dollars for agencies like the Red Cross and Second Harvest Food Bank. Keith Urban was there and Vince Gill was the driving force behind it. So their generosity, in spite of their losses, is inspirational.
