One of Nashville's largest sound and gear storage facilities, used by some of Nashville's most popular entertainers is now under 3 to 8 feet of water.
"Soundcheck of Nashville", located near the Cumberland River in Nashville has dozens of classroom sized storage lockers used to house many entertainers gear when not on tour. Brad Paisley reports he has lost all of his equipment, saving only one or two of his favorite guitars he had at his home. Keith Urban has lost all of his stage gear-guitars, amps, drums, etc. Vince Gill has lost his entire collection of guitars, mostly vintage and collectable guitars and amps. Lee Ann Rimes has at least a 53' trailer full of gear under 8 ft of water in that facility. Kenny Chesney's home in Nashville has been condemned, and is currantly under water. He has lost all of his contents of his house.
Do you think Fender may step in and do something?

For Fender, this is what is formally referred to in Risk Management as ... "an opportunity".

Ummm......wouldn't you, when you heard about the water rising, start hauling stuff out??? If Leann Rimes lost a TRAILER of stuff....whoever she has dealing with that kind of thing needs to be flogged. Definitely sucks, though. My lone guitar broke and I felt like crap....can't imagine losing everything. (or even just a lot)

Here's a link
http://www.wsmv.com/news/23468940/detail.html

I'm not much of a Brad Paisley fan and they other day I think I saw a video of his where they were jumping in a swimming pool with guitars and the drummer was playing in water.......I thought what a thing to do to musical instruments....guess some things come back to haunt you.

Time to fill out those insurance forms. But it is a shame, the world may be losing some quality vintage instruments.

It continually amazes me that people can be surprised by flooding caused by rain in other parts of the state. I grew up in Arizona, and one of the first things you're taught is don't play in dry riverbeds if the mountains are cloudy. Water has to go somewhere. Bet the guy that owns the storage place is hating life right about now. (so's his insurance guy!!!)

All that means is that concert tickets will go from $125 per seat to $150.

Man that really has to suck losing your whole collection of guitars. Brad Paisley had alot of custom guitars and Vince Gill had a huge collection as well. I feel sick for all of them but even more so for those that aren't millionaires that lost everything. I guess most of them are just happy they didn't lose thier families.

Send the whole lot of it to Ceri.

He'll have it fixed up in no time and we'll get to see pictures of it all.

Brad will have to buy a few more servers to handle the increased traffic.

Only as far as their endorsement contract requires. They should not get special treatment because they are famous. The equipment lost is covered by insurance and if they had real sentimental value it would not have been kept in storage.

Who do you think was affected more, the millionaire celebrity who kept their guitar collection at a storage facility or the bedroom player who lost their #1?

I'm not heartless, mind you, but it's pretty hard for me to feel too sorry for these celebrities who lost their stuff. They have more than enough $$ to replace most of the guitars, and like VooDoo said if the guitars were really important to them in a sentimental way they wouldn't have been in storage in the first place. It def sucks for these celebs too.....

....BUT....

What about all the people that lost their homes, cars, everything they own and they don't have enough/any insurance to cover it. They may love their guitar(s) but are more concerned about their cars to get to work or having a workplace to go to and a home to come home to.

I am not a fan of country music but I do have some pretty good memories of staying at the Opryland Hotel and working in the Grand Ole Opry itself so it's hard to see those places underwater too.

Just priorities I guess, who needs the media attention more?

Exactly, those celebs will get back plenty of guitars and equipment and then some....it's the poor guys who struggle and save to buy the best axe and amp they can,and then if it's lost along with everything else they own,do you think the musical instruments are first on the list to buy?

I know someone who's not a celeb, but a professional musician, who lost close to 30 guitars in the flood. Not to mention amps and effects.
