Taurus they have been fighting this for years, this was not just brought up when he ran for President. I don't know if its true or not but I do no that it would be easy to put it to rest but they won't. I have been able to get and trace records of my family back to 1700 coming here to the America's. And then into Germany before that. Need proof to be member of the Son's of the Revolution.
No one can't tell me that the President can not get a Birth Certificate from Hawaii or even medical records to show his birth. Why have they spent millions fighting this?
Even Obama has not denied the use of Barry Soetoro while with stepfather and mother living in Indonesia.

Housing crash? No. Because of the housing crash in America, our economy went into recession as a result, and mid-tier financial institutions went bust and people lost a lot of money.

Having said, I have no idea how the mortgage system actually works there. I ve heard of "Generation loans" where a bank will offer a mortgage to the whole family spanning many many years- which here is unheard of.

We do have an issue that housing affordability is out of reach for a large number of our population- particularly in Auckland. Partly responsible was our previous Labour Govt. for not wanting to introduce Capital Gains Tax for those "Baby Boomers" who purchased multiple properties and/or for investment. Effectively, it has pushed the younger generation out of the housing market, forcing them to rent.

Statistics say that over 70% of our population now rent as a result.

My best friend and his young wife are up to their eyeballs in mortgage, (nearly NZD$450,000) worth for a 2 bdrm house that hasnt been touched or renovated since the early eighties- in a mediocre/lower part of Auckland. Thats the average price for a house here. Buying for investment days are long gone... what happened to buying a "home" rather than a "House"? :oops:

They would love to have kids, but the sad reality is that they just cannot afford to have any at all. One income supporting three mouths to feed, a mortgage and medical bills- it's an impossibility.

The cool thing, is that our National led Govt. are going to knuckle down on Capital Gains Tax and hopefully bring an end to it before the brains of our country migrate elsewhere.

two things for you to consider again:

1. therefore all your linked website can provide is a short form birth certificate from hawaii exactly what obama already provided. apparently according to you linked website this is an acceptable birth certificate.


2. also, do you really think, knowing how much that some republican senators and congressman despise obama, that they as public servants would remain silent about obamas birth place if they had credible evidence that obama is not a u.s. citizen?

Wow, this one got out of hand but I'm glad everyone has an opinion and is keeping up with the news.

In Shakira's defense, she has an IQ of 140 and is worth millions. So I doubt anybody is going to get lucky with her and force her into the welfare system of any country. She has met with heads of state in her philanthropy and humanitarian efforts to include World Bank President Robert Zoellick(hint).

I don't know much about constitutional law. (I is a coledge student) I depend on Congress and the Supreme Court to check the power of the Executive Office. So immigration laws are not particularly my concern. I'm more worried about a police state, marshall law, and internment camps.

But if we continue to unite, get involved, keep informed then none of this will ever happen.

Quite frankly,I'm tired of all the retoric involving the President and or immigrants. Is it to much to think that if an individual is a Harvard graduate and passed a law exam cannot be smart enough not to run this country into the ground unlike his predessor. This whole thread reaks of racism and I'm really tired of listening to you folks who wish to spew your venom and hate across this forums. We get it, you cannot appreciate anyone who is either smarter or thinks a little more progressively than you back woods folk. I also understand how the thought of some folks receiving adequate healthcare make the lot of you want to run to the hills. GO BACK. There are those of us who are taxpayers and find the idea of people maybe living longer as being a nobel thought. It is very disgusting to attempt to read something that has to do with a hobby that I'm truly intersted in only to be suckered into a Q&A over some politics that most of you are so racially biased that you can't see the dirt for the ground. Most of you need to just GET OVER IT. If your really tired of the way things are going either run for office or shut up...

for those of you who watch The Daily Show...do you remember that one "Moment of Zen" about a year ago, where a security camera caught a bunch of mexicans running through a border passport booth thingy (what do they call those anyway?). apparently it was unmanned or something, as they freely just made their way onto US soil.
i tried to find a video but its probably nowhere to be found.

So your telling me that the State would not make an exception for Obama and give him a copy of the original I gotten original for family research from 4 different states.. And the linked site said they can get original copys.
Cap. Eyeball I have had to not only prove My Birth but my parents birth in the past. My Dad was born above a bank on the second floor of a building with doctor attending. I had to prove there nationality And set down behind a lie detector caboot. (made up word) Work related stuff. Don't tell me it can't be done because it is every day.

B) I'd dislike him just as much if he was white. Stop playing the race card.

You may not believe it but someone who has lived it can certainly see when individuals wish to call you the N- word or boy there is seemingly a connection to race prejudice. And it amazes me to think that you can be so nieve not to believe that while Mr. Bush did in fact receieve a degree I wonder did he earn it??? Face it you good old boys some of us can see and spell (although I made a mistake) and call you on your racist motivation...

mmmmm.........just like most people......I seem to get asked for my ID, almost on a daily basis. Not only if I blow a red light, but every time I put in any type of application for one thing or another. Credit card use or applications, every time I go to the bank to make a transaction, etc. So.......if someone needs me to show it to prove my citizenship......big deal. I'll just show it once again, if it helps curb the illegal alien problem. I don't understand what part of "Illegal" people don't understand. Maybe I should also pick and choose which laws I want to, or not obey.

I tell you what...........how do you think Mexico would treat an illegal alien, sneaking across their border, from Central America? It wouldn't be pretty. No country seems to be as lax with their borders as we are.

Guys: there are other forums out there to discuss politics so please go visit them if you want to have discussions like this. As usual this has disintegrated into a name-calling fest which is what most politically-charged threads tend to do -- which is why we're not too keen on them here.
