Hello,

I'm new on the forum and play the electric guitar.

I'm really a beginner, just got my guitar yesterday.

Does someone have beginnertips for me?

Welcome!

Just keep plugging away at it and don't get upset at yourself over your progress. Remember, most people are their own worst critics.

1) Stay with it. It becomes alot more fun the better you get.

2) Focus on proper technique (ie, using correct fingers to play notes in a given scale, thumb behind the middle of the back of the neck, etc). By doing so, you will get better and stronger much more quickly.

Yeah, just be relaxed, try and focus on any little things that seem to be working for you, as it's normal to be only bumbling around everything you try to do. The start, which is not going to pass overnight, is the worst part, and seems really impossible at to accomplish anything, but it will pass, and in a little while, things should start getting better for you. Then the awesome milestones start to happen, like grabbing for a couple of chords to play together, and finally they work! suddenly, you're jammin! Ahh, what a feeling! Don't ever give up, it will keep getting better!

P.S. check out youtube for beginner guitar lessons for starters, and then there's all manner of lessons to be found!

Here, evryone is your friend, unless you insult them 8) Haha just kidding! Welcome to the best forum you'll ever join! We have our guitar gurus...somewhere 'round here. Eh if you have a question just post it, don't be afraid, anything goes..normally.

As for tips, hey, just pick up the guitar and get a feel for it. I know everytime I pick up mine I get the chills and can't help smiling 'bout it! I know I'm not the only one. One thing you'd maybe want is guitar lessons, but thats an optional thing. Get some guitar books; make sure they have TAB, thats always easier to read. :)

Hey there, welcome aboard. So what kind of axe did you pick up? My advice is to practice slooooooooooow. Dont develop bad habits early. If you can swing it try to go for weekly lessons. I'm started when I was 30 and took a few years of lessons. It was a big help.

The players on this forum are awesome, dont be shy in asking them for advice.

Rock on broseph.
