Wrong-O. Here you go, Ceri:

How many tuba players does it take to change a light bulb?
Five: one to hold the bulb, one to hold the lamp, and three to drink until the room spins.

How do you raise the town's IQ?
Shoot the tuba player.

Oh dear - I've a feeling I'm going to disappoint now by admitting I don't really play the tuba. I'm all in favor of drinking till the room spins though, while someone else takes care of the light bulb... :D

To max-preston: serious (-ish) answer? Most of us here like Fender guitars and amps. Aside from those that come here to complain about them.

Confusingly, some folks fit both of those descriptions...

Here: have a light bulb -

Cheers - C

Your survey will be skewed because we are biased towards Fender here on a FENDER forum.

Check this out: "Statistical surveys are used to collect quantitative information about items in a population.....Sample selection is critical to the validity of the information that represents the populations that are being studied."
from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistical_survey

In order for a survey to be more accurate, you need to have a few more populations represented. Are you asking what people think of Fender on Gibson forums, Epiphone forums, Ibanez forums, PRS forums, Schecter forum, Rickenbacker forum etc, etc???

Good luck with your report.

Just bustin' yer chops Max, seriously, i think you will find that most folks here own, love, covet shamelessly, actively seek more fender gear as a lifestyle, suffering much gas in that seeking endeavor, and pretty much live and breath playing tunage on all manner of fender equipment, because it is some of the best on the planet sir! If you are new, stick around, and i am sure that you will find many friends here!

I'm a big fan of Fender instruments and amps, but not a big fan of surveys... :)

Is your assignment about surveys or Fender? Either way I hope you do well. You would get better results asking specific questions about specific products in a wide variety of places. If the answers so far aren't helpful - can you tell us more about the info you're looking for please?

There are two types of people in the world - Gibson people and Fender people.

Sure, we all dabble with the other one, but every musician has a go-to instrument.

Mine will always be a Fender Strat.

max preston, try this. grab a strat, plug it into an amp and stand in front of a mirror. turn the amp up to 10 and hit the strings like you mean it. then put your hand up over your head and listen to the lovely noise you've created. don't forget to keep looking in the mirror.
i own several guitars. for me, and my wife will back this up, the strat is just downright sexy. the sound, shape and overall thing we call a strat. it is what it is. when you are as ugly as i am, and a terrible guitarist, you want a sexy strat hanging from your neck to distract the ladies from your face.
if you are pretty. buy a BC RICH.

Okay Max, here's some information about Fender equipment that are universal truths, and some of the main reasons fender players do that fender thing. Fender guitars, basses, and amps have been an American mainstay for generations, The fender company has been providing some of the most playable, best sounding instruments and amps in the world for some 60 years. Each model of guitar having it's own mix of incredible tonal voices, i.e, the difference between the telecaster and the stratocaster. Both models are widely used in blues, rock, and country music to name a few musical styles. While both guitars are quite different in basic sound, they are both able to do very well in the styles listed here and more. The amps are equally excellent, with models for every musical style from acoustic guitars to serious tube tone for blues and rock. And nobody does amp reverb like fender. Fender guitars, basses and amps are designed so well, that they have a certain magic that only a fender has. Their signature sound, looks, and playability have made them true icons in the music world. they have that major mojo, that coolness factor that make them must haves for many. Try one on sometime, i think you'll like what you feel!
