Like the music of their day, Star Wars and Star Trek were pop culture icons that a lot of people still relate to more than a generation later.

Whenever anyone asked me what the date was today, I would quickly say the force instead of the fourth. Just stupid fun for me.

Hilarious!
I'm still laughing--of course it could also be the time.

No, it was funny.

I paraphrase that line when I get a chance to.

People usually don't get it.

And I'm not that big a Star Wars fan--I only liked the original movie.

In my book, zontar, that makes you the best kind of Star Wars fan. I love the original 1977 movie called Star Wars. Not "Episode IV" or "A New Hope." :? Just Star Wars. Everything else is just a futile attempt to recapture the magic of that first film. :x Sure, the special effects are better in those films, but where's the heart?

And as for the so-called "prequel trilogy"...midichlorians, my arse!

I have time for Empire but not the third film Return of the Jedi. What a hopeless ninety minute toy advert that was. Prime example of promising to deliver but never actually packing a punch. I thought revenge of the sith was better, storywise.
I was led to believe before the Phantom Grimace was made that the three prequels were meant to deal with the origins of Kenobi, Solo and Vader. One each film. The Solo story in particular is a real corker in the books.

The current series of Fate of the Jedi books are good but you really need to go back to the Jedi Acadamy books then Yuuzhan Vong invasion then legacy of the force and read from there to appreciate them. Thats a good 18months worth of reading, before you get to em.

Yes I'm a big Starwars universe fan.
