For a string bending ace like me,I just go to wherever it sounds perfect!.....yeah....perfect pitch, that's me. :P

I'm very pleased to hear that. It's something more should work towards.
Thanks, but I was joking some...I do bend alot but actually don't have perfect pitch....better than many I guess, but not perfect at all.

As was I mate. I'm no one to instruct anyone on what they should be doing.

Bend away, your right it does improve pitch alot. I just got that Jeff Beck album, emotion and commotion. I've spent the last week playing everything 3 semitones flat and trying to trem up to the desired notes.

The normaly patient and forgiving missus is tearing her hair out at the noise.

If the 12th fret harmonic and the 12th fret fretted note are dead on the same, you have about the best intonation you're going to get. That is, if the frets and nut are properly spaced. For my money adding an Earvana Compensated Nut is an excellent investment. The Washburn Buzz Feiten system is basically the exact same thing but their setup requires expensive modding to install and leaves permanent cuts. Kinda lame way to do it IMHO, and at 4 times the expense of the Earvana too.
